Want to learn, but can't commit to weekly lessons from September through May each year? If you fit into one of the situations below, maybe short term lessons are a good fit for you!
Short term students are not necessarily required to use Suzuki repertoire or attend Suzuki group classes, nor is parent participation always required, although if the student is a minor, parent or guardian presence during each lesson is required. I do request that all students participate in an appropriate group or ensemble whenever one is available to them, and my basic teaching philosophy for these kinds of lessons is still grounded in Suzuki teaching principles.

Do you have an irregular work schedule, or need to travel a lot for work?
Adult students can arrange lessons around their work schedule, or schedule a combination of in-person and online lessons due to travel. These can be ongoing (long-term) lessons, or a series of short term lessons on a single technique. Want to learn a specific technique only?
If you already have basic beginner's playing skills, and aren't currently taking private lessons, ask me about taking a short series of lessons focused on one skill.
Is there a skill you want to learn not listed here? Just ask! |
Do you need a little help with your part for a school orchestra, a youth orchestra, or a community orchestra?
If you're not currently taking private lessons, you can schedule a few coaching sessions to help you get ready for your next concert, or to help guide you through your orchestra's method book (like Essential Elements, etc.) For Pre-concert coachings - schedule 2 or more coaching sessions starting at least 3 weeks before your concert. For assistance in going through a method book - schedule 3 or more lessons at at any time. Want to learn a second instrument?
If you already play an instrument, and you want to expand your musical skills to include viola or violin, but you don't have as much time to practice your secondary instrument as you do on your primary instrument, let me know! We can arrange short-term or long-term lessons, a combination of in-person or online lessons, twice-a-month lessons, or arrange lessons depending on what your schedule permits. Distance (Online) lessons:
Moved to a new area and can't find a teacher with openings right away? Or are you getting back into playing after a break, and your preferred local teacher no longer has openings? I'm happy to support you with interim online lessons, until you can find a local teacher with in person lessons who's a good fit for you. |
